Please NO harsh comments … This was an article I found while doing some research, and I am thoroughly alarmed, because I've never heard of this before. It is long, but here's the article. . "Back in 2003, there were reports that the 27 veterinary schools in North America were considering new guidelines regarding annual vaccinations for pets. A new protocol was accepted, which recognized that the immune system of dogs and cats are fully mature. At the age of 6 months, therefore, if the animal is vaccinated after the age of 6 months, results in immunity from vaccinated against major diseases -. Parvo virus and distemper If the vaccine is given more than a year later (the first of the so-called "annual vaccines"), the antibodies of the first vaccine neutralize the antigens of the second vaccine and there is little or no effect Yes, you read that right -. Little or no effect guidelines went further, finding. That not only are annual boosters of parvo and distemper unnecessary to subject the pet to potential risks of allergic reactions and immune-mediated hemolytic anemia. Vaccinosis is a common term used for these reactions . Can occur in any animal. Animals that are at higher risk for these reactions are those that were not in excellent health at the time of vaccination. Sick animals should not be vaccinated. But wait, there's more (as stated the saying) … The guidelines came to find that there is no scientific documentation to support label claims for annual administration of MLV (modified live virus) accines. Yes, there is scientific evidence to support the annual vaccination. Puppies receive antibodies through her breast milk, which is active during the first 8 to 14 weeks of life of the puppies. A vaccine series should be given from 8 weeks and given 3 to 4 weeks to 16 weeks of age -. So a maximum of 4 shots between the ages of 8 and 16 weeks a vaccine against the most given sometime after 6 months of age (usually at the age of 1 year 4 months) and then provide immunity for life. Yes, lifelong immunity. Why we are still being tricked into believing that annual vaccines for animals are needed, why indeed. There is a combination of reasons, including – (a) ignorance on the part of veterinarians (although the passage of time, there is less excuse for this kind of ignorance), (b) unwillingness to trust the pet owners to bring their pets in one year health check and spectrum use of "required" annual vaccines as a means for pet owners to bring their pets in, (c) the benefits. Will you succumb to the continued pressure to vaccinate your pet unnecessarily each year, or going to take a stand and tell your veterinarian that you do not want to vaccinate your pet more. (Of course, you should discuss this with your veterinarian, as it is of great importance to have a veterinarian who can work with respect to comprehensive health examinations of your pet. Year are very important and you never know when you will need to call your veterinarian if your pet is injured or ill). If your veterinarian does not support its decision not to vaccinate your adult dog or cat, and then find a vet who will. Tests are an alternative degree that your vet may suggest, and you may want to consider. Titles blood test for antibodies, which can assure that a "stimulating "Vaccination is not mandatory. Certainly there are laws to be changed -. Including laws currently governing kennels in many areas, which require an animal to be addressed" up "with their annual vaccinations This should be a problem for people who need to board their pets some. Kennels accept homeopathic vaccines, such as homeopathic remedies and homeopathic remedies distemper kennel cough, but many will not. "WOW .. I really do not think there are people who agree .. I thought I would be reprimanded for publishing such a thing. Well, if this is true really, I'm glad I came across it. Because now I know that anything beyond 1yr and 4 mo shots completely denies all the shots given before that. . And so each year. . *** Okay, so to learn that anger is necessary in my state anyway. In order to not have your dog removed and the dog is "legal" So, for yearly exams, all you do is: Teeth Cleanings, rabies vaccination and physical examination, with a heartworm and testing of the stool? ***. I was happy to learn … No harshness here. I too have heard many times that vaccines last longer than you vet will tell you that many of the annual vaccines are simply not necessary. IF you have a dog that goes to show or regularly addressed that need to be a little more care, but this year I did it my way or 5 leptosprosis mu in any of my 4 dogs. Why? Because they are 4 and 7 and 8, and should have this built in systems where their ages. My dogs never addressed nor will more to dog shows that are not exposed the way they once were. Even chose not tesing title. I made a decision based on my lifestyle with my dogs for vaccinations every two years except for the rage that will keep me on time. Many people do not even know about titles and you can do. Keep educated and do for your dog you need for your living situation. For me, it works better.

This is being published in both cats and dogs. Number one. Presentation of dogs and cats: Well first, my mother has a kitten. Strange situation was a trade. Ok stay with me now. In a nutshell. My brother went. The person who moved in with was a kitten, he did not want the kitten, as it was an unwanted gift and that they would take him to the SPCA. My brother has a pit bull kills cats. So he changed the kitten by the pitbull. My brother is at your dog, my mom gets a cat, everyone is happy. . Ok, not everyone. I have a dog. An American Staffy, which is 1 year old. She has been with the pitbull about 2 months old. I made an attempt to introduce the dog and the cat (cats 6 months of age). Heres what happened: The dog is crated hand, the cat is inside. I put the dog in a harness and cable. Purchased from the kitchen and made her lie down. I held her and had total control over it. I let the cat approach. It went well, the cat is very brave. Approached with caution. The dog was very excitable. Do not growl or anything and she responded to commands even though it was a little too excited. They had two face to face situations and only sniffed each other. But as the cat was walking out the second time my dog went to the tail of the cats. I was holding, so that nothing happened other then a try. I really need advice on that, some advice on the introduction of properly, and teach the dog to be gentle. Number two: The formation of a kitten. How the hell do you train a kitten not to scratch and bite? I would like to pet the cat without a tetanus shot every time I do. That reminds me why I am a dog lover, you can pet a dog with the need for bandages and antiseptic with you. As I understand it with this cat who spent 4 months in a garage, and have a problem of the needy, and keeps sucking on his blanket. But still. I like my arms intact. I'll be moving within 6 months. So no. The cat can stay, the dog will come with me. Besides, I like the cat to be euthanized because the shelters around here so due to over population. I'm sure the cat would be happier with life. I was glad to find this – Be nice to the kitten and take it to a shelter so you can have a home free of dogs.

It goes without saying that we all love our pets, and we want to make certain that they live long and healthy lives. We take them to the vet for their checkups and vaccinations, we spay and neuter them to help reduce the animal population, and we open our hearts and our homes to them. We also are subjected to a steady stream of pet food commercials, each company trying to convince us that their pet food is superior to the others. The unfortunate truth, though, is that not all pet food companies have your beloved animal's best interests at heart.
In fact, much of the dog/cat food on the market is not nutrient dense; instead, it relies in large part on fillers and animal byproducts. Look closely at the list of ingredients for the pet food you have on hand. Even so-called premium brand pet foods have ingredients that will take you aback.
The first five ingredients listed usually make up the lion's share of the pet food. Leading cat food and dog food brands will include things like chicken by-product meal, corn grits, corn meal or corn gluten meal, and wheat flour or wheat gluten. An ideal diet for cats is one that's human grade. For example, cat food should contain a concentrated, high-quality protein source like chicken meal, ground brown rice, rice flour, chicken fat, and dried beet pulp. Dog food should contain the same ingredients, with the exception of substituting oat groats for rice flour.
The list of ingredients in your dog/cat food may be surprising, but it's also startling to see that even premium brands don't generally include ingredients that will sustain your pet's health and longevity.
What are some of these ingredients? For dogs and cats, nutritious food should include vegetables and fruits, which contain antioxidants, as well as fiber, vitamins, and phytonutrients. It should also include direct-fed microbials – the kinds of microbials that are found in yogurt that help maintain good health. Similarly, omega-3 fatty acids should be incorporated into a nutritious pet food, both because they support health and because they keep your pet's coat shiny.
When you contrast how we eat with how our pets eat, it becomes clear that the quality of their food is of paramount importance. After all, we eat a wide variety of foods, and can always supplement our diets with vitamins if we skip on the veggies or fruit. Our pets, on the other hand, eat the same food day in and day out for most of their lives, with a few added treats now and then; if there's a vital nutrient missing, they don't have the opportunity to consume it elsewhere.
Life's abundance is meant to be shared. Our pets give us so much unconditional love that the least we can do in return is provide them with human grade, nutritious pet food that will ensure that they enrich our lives for years to come.
