I was just adopted by a stray cat. He decided that my floor was a great place to crawl up into my home. . Cats go figure. Well his skin temperature seems to be rather hot. Has anyone heard of any remedies to bring down feline fevers? The cat crawled through my floor and into my house. . He is eatting like a 15 yr old boy and drinking fine. . Uncertain as to if he is defecating or urinating yet. . Will be going to the vet hopefully tomorrow. . He has been given a bath and that did not lower his temp. I suspect he has feline mange or just major infestation of fleas. Yes he did get a flea treatment. I think I found an answer. Most animals have a temperature much higher than our, often 3 or 4 degrees higher. You could check his temperature through his rectum and is it is above 104 then your cat is most likely very ill. He may just be stressed and has yet to calm down from being in a new surrounding, but just to be sure he should see a vet as soon as possible.

My pet is a pit bull (show type) he is losing his hair, starting around the neck, with a tiny reddish bumps like thing, his toes and feet included. Would any one recommend the best medicine or cure for this type of dog skin disease. Well, I have your answer right here. That sounds like he might have an allergic reaction to something in the enviroment, also called allergic dermatitis. Most likey if he is itching and biting himself thats what he has, theres also a possability he could have mites, food allergie, or fleas. Take him to a vet and get him tested for the above things. If proven he does have one of those like the allergic dermatitis the vet should give you a cream that is antihistamine,antiseptic and slightly numbing. It should work. hope this helps.

Two years ago we adopted a kitten from the humane society in our state. A few months later we noticed that our cat had a large bald patch around its back. We took him to the vet who diagnosed him with allergies possibly to fleas. We've been treating him with monthly flea medicine and it will get better for several months and then it will get worse. It subsists in the winter even though there are no fleas. Our cat lives a very normal life but I just wish there was someway we could get rid of it or another diagnosis that would make more sense. I was happy to learn… There's not really much else you can do. . If the symptoms carry on even when there are no fleas, it may be allergic to something other than the fleas – maybe a household product or another pet (if you have others.) Check with your vet to see if there are other allergy possibilites, otherwise just continue to take good care of your kitty.
